Class Policies
- Registration and pre-payment is required to save your spot.
- If you need to withdraw from a class for which you are registered, please give 24 hours notice in order to receive a refund or credit.
- Our Basic classes have all materials included, but for most classes, you will need to purchase your own materials.
- Materials are available at The Bead Gallery at a 15% discount to class participants. Be sure to mention that the purchases you are making are for a class so we can be sure to give you your discount.
- Classes will run if there are two or more people enrolled. If you are the only person enrolled in a class, we will offer the class to you as a private lesson at private lesson rates. If you do not wish to take a private lesson, we will issue you a credit or refund.

SCHEDULE June - August 2010
Classes are divided into #1 classes, which are suitable for any level of beading expertise, including beginner, and #2 classes, which are more suitable for those with some experience. The Bead Gallery staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have about classes.
The Following classes have not been scheduled, but are available by calling the store and making an appointment with Joy. Private lessons $20/hr, 2 or more people 2 hrs for $25 per person.

#1 - Basic Earrings

Learn the basics of earring construction and design. You will make 3 pairs of earrings while learning how to create a perfect gallery wrap, how to dangle a bead from a chain and how to attach a top-drilled (briolette) bead.

#1 - Beaded Hoop Earrings

First, learn how to make a pair of wire hoop earrings of any size. Then, embellish them with wire and beads to create your perfect pair of hoops. This class teaches you how to shape and harden wire as well as how to neatly wrap the wire between each bead, techniques that can be used on a variety of jewelry pieces.

Everything you ever wanted to know about wire…and more! After taking this class you will know which kind of wire to choose for each project, what different tools are used for (such as pliers, cutters, jigs, benders, bench blocks, anvils, hammers, mandrels, pin vices and files), and how to make your own headpins, ear wires, S-clasps, hook and eye clasps, and crimp cord ends (for leather cord). Wrapped loops (gallery wraps) will be covered as well as how to make your own design components using pliers or jigs. No wire-wrapping experience necessary.

Faith teaches you how to create a pair of lovely spiral wire wrapped earrings. This simple design, reminiscent of Dream Catchers, is a great introduction to precision wire-wrapping and can be made large or small.

Examples of meander art (decorative borders constructed from one continuous line) are found all over the world and throughout history. Perhaps the
most famous example, the classic Greek Key design, was inspired by the winding Büyük Menderes River in Turkey and symbolizes eternal life, love and friendship. This class will hone your wire bending skills and teach you the proper way to harden wire components. Lolo’s adaptation of the Greek Key design makes this project easy and fun.

GLASS CLASSES
#1 - Beginner 1 Intro to Softglass Beadmaking
$80 (Materials $10)
Instructor: Faith
Become familiar with the tools, torches and materials used to make soft glass beads. Participants learn to make basic round and cylinder beads as well as how to embellish them. Techniques covered in this class include applying dots, stripes and pulling stringers.
