Classes are divided into #1 classes, which are suitable for any level of beading expertise, including beginner, and #2 classes, which are more suitable for those with some experience. The Bead Gallery staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have about classes.

Learn how to make your own clasps in this fun class, suitable for beginning silver smiths.  Angela shows you how to form clasps from sterling silver wire using techniques such as sawing, forging, filing and sanding.  Learn how to perform basic silver soldering, using a crème brulee torch, then finish your pieces by sanding and polishing.

Make a beautiful copper pendant embellished with a zodiac design in this fun beginning silver smith class.  Use a disc cutting punch to create a copper disc from sheet metal, then form your disc into a perfect dome, using a dapping block.  Next, create a zodiac symbol from copper wire and solder it onto your pendant.

Learn how to use a drill to make a bead out of a stone (or create a bigger hole in an existing bead.) Learn to “tap” (drill part way into) a stone and attach a bail using jeweler’s epoxy. If time permits, students will be able to tap their own stones.  Students usually drill at least two stones.

In just two hours, you will learn to saw, bend, file, solder, anneal, pickle, and polish metal as you create a beautiful sterling silver ring. If, after taking the class, you find out that you love metalsmithing, you can then sign up for the cabochon setting class and further embellish your ring. This class is suitable for beginners. 4 students maximum
